The cartoonist and academician Halis Dokgöz´s Cartoon Exhibition will be opening in the Schneidertempel Art Gallery on December 9th.
Halis Dokgöz whose first cartoon was published in Kılçık magazine, had started drawing cartoons in 1985. Later his cartoons appeared in many magazines and newspapers such as Gırgır, Limon, Çarşaf, ArteFacto, Buduar, Cumhuriyet, Bizim Gazete, Hürriyet, Milliyet, Bir Gün, Radikal, and Sabah. He drew cartoons regularly for Kılçık, Tıp Dünyası (Medical World), Sendrom, Hiç, Fesat, Homur, and Hekim Forumu (Doktors' Forum) magazines. Between the years 2016 - 2018, his cartoons were published daily in Çukurova Hürriyet Newspaper's Metafor column. His cartoons have also been published in countries like Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Greece, Romania, Poland, Iran, Cyprus, Portugal, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Azerbaijan, India, South Korea, Serbia, and China. He received various awards in national and international competitions he had entered.Halis Dokgöz's first cartoon book 'Güneşin Girmediği Yere (Where the Sun Never Goes In)' published in 1989 was followed by 'Çizgisel (Linear)' in 2010. In 2019, his latest works and cartoons in Hurriyet newspaper were compiled in his book 'Metafor (Metaphor)'. Finally, in 2020, his cartoon book 'Karikatürlerle Çocuk Hakları Sözleşmesi (Convention on the Rights of the Child via Cartoons)' with which he tried to promote and increase awareness about the 'Convention on the Rights of the Child', has been published.
