International Press Cartoon Competition in France

COMPETITION RULES
The municipality of Ramatuelle, concerned with the preservation of its environment, wishes to draw attention to the nuisances caused by the incessant traffic of helicopters on its territory. For this reason, convinced that satire, caricature, and insolence can be sane remedies, it calls on cartoonists to create drawings featuring these nuisances, through a competition.
PARTICIPATION RULES
Applications
Participation in this competition is international and limited to professional cartoonists working for print and digital press.
Applications will be presented as follows, on one page size A4 maximum:
- Name of the candidate
- Postal address, email address, telephone number
- Brief presentation of the applicant: biography, (250 words maximum)
Drawings
- Each candidate is allowed to send a maximum of 3 drawings.
- The purpose of the drawings is to constitute a communication medium illustrating the problem of transport by helicopter on the municipal territory.
- The proposed drawings must reflect the theme of the competition.
- The drawings must relate to the territory of Ramatuelle in particular.
- The drawings can feature the different protagonists.
- The drawings must be produced in landscape format, they can be in black and white or in color, and be created using any technique.
The drawings will be sent in digital format (file named in the name of the candidate) to the address:

At the end of the competition, a high-resolution file, in 300 dpi, in JPEG or PNG, TIFF format will be requested from the winner. (In anticipation of a display on a panel L4 x H 3 meters)
CONDUCT OF THE COMPETITION
Submission of applications and drawings
The deadline for submitting proposals (applications and drawings) is set as follows: Thursday 14 October 2021 at 11.59 pm. Proposals will be sent by email to the following email address:
No proposal submitted after the deadline date and time will be taken into account
Jury
A jury is set up and chaired by Christian-Alexandre Faure, president of the association Le Crayon, an association for the defense of freedom of expression through the promotion of press cartoons.
The jury is made up of:
- Pierre BALLOUHEY, president of the France Cartoons association
- Christian-Alexandre FAURE, president of the association Le Crayon
- Jean-François JULLIARD , Directeur Général de l’association Greenpeace France, membre du jury
- Marc GOUJON, Director of the Peynet Museum and of cartooning, Antibes
- KAK (Patrick LAMASSOURE), president of the Cartooning for Peace association
- Sitor SENGHOR, director of the Orbis Pictus Paris Gallery
Jury meetings will take place between October 15 and 19, 2021.
Prizes
The winners of the competition will be awarded as follows:
1st prize: 5,000 euros + L4xH3 meter display in the town
2nd prize: 2,500 euros
3rd prize: 1,250 euros
Announcement
The competition will be launched on Monday, September 14, 2021 by publication on the site and the buyer's profile of the municipality.
