Opening of the Egyptian-Mexico cartoon exhibition on climate change

Under the patronage of Dr. Nevin Al Kilani, Minister of Culture, Dr. Khaled Sorour, Head of the Plastic Arts Sector, Dr. Fathi Abdel Wahab, Head of the External Cultural Relations Sector, Mr. Jose Octavio Tripp, Ambassador of Mexico to Egypt, and artist Fawzy Morsy, cartoonist, inaugurated the Egyptian-Mexico joint caricature exhibition, which holds The title "A Call to Awareness of the Effects of Climate Change", at the Ahmed Shawky Museum "Karma Bin Hani", in the presence of a selection of cartoonists, led by Saeed Badawi, Hassan Farouk, Samir Abdel Ghani, Khaled Al-Marsafi, Farouk Moussa, Kamal Jabr, Marwa Ibrahim, Arkan Al-Zaidi, Islam Zaki, Ibrahim Abla, Director of the Caricature Museum in Fayoum, and a number of journalists, media professionals and the public.

 

 

 

 

This exhibition, which is the first joint cartoon exhibition with the participation of a group of the brightest cartoonists from Egypt and Mexico, comes as an alarm bell dealing with the phenomenon of climate change, its causes and negative effects on humanity and the planet, such as natural disasters, drought, deforestation, the deterioration of ecosystems and other topics.

 

The Mexican Ambassador, Jose Octavio Trip, said: "The exhibition presents to the Egyptian and Mexican communities a visual image of one of the most important human issues, which is climate change, through the art of drawing and cartoon".

He added: There is the participation of cartoonists and designers from Egypt and Mexico with 25 works to attract attention and think about phenomena related to climate change.

 

 

 

The exhibition is organized by the Embassy of Mexico in Cairo, the Foreign Cultural Relations Sector and the Plastic Arts Sector, in cooperation with the University Program for Asian and African Studies of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Caricature Museum in Fayoum, and Egypt Cartoon Blog.

The exhibition continues until the 24th of this month.
