Rabindranath Tagore
(May 7, 1861– August 7, 1941) was active as a poet, writer,
playwright, composer, philosopher, social reformer, educationist and
painter during the age of Bengal Renaissance, he became in 1913 the
first non-European and the first lyricist to win the Nobel Prize in
Literature.
Naguib Mahfouz
(December 11, 1911 – August 30, 2006) was one of the most famous and
prominent Egyptian and Arab writers, and the first Arab writer to win
the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1988.
