Gaza is currently one of the deadliest places in the world, experiencing the highest rate of war-induced hunger. The region has also witnessed the highest number of casualties in a single year, the most amputee children, and the highest number of killed journalists, doctors, and aid workers. Heavy bombings, severe air and water pollution, and the widespread use of chemical weapons (equivalent to the explosion of four atomic bombs) have severely damaged the environment and infrastructure. The UN estimates that it will take more than 15 years to clean up this devastation. This is while even the tents and camps of Gaza refugees are being bombed with incendiary bombs.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, as a result of The Zionist regime army attacks on Gaza since October 7th of last year, more than 42,000 people have been martyred. A significant portion of these killings has been of children and women.
The total number of wounded from The Zionist regime army attacks on Gaza since the beginning of the war in this region has exceeded 100,000.
This catastrophe goes beyond genocide, which is limited to the direct killing of individuals. Here, the goal is the complete destruction of Gaza society and the environment. Therefore, this event can be called "Holocide," meaning the complete destruction of Gaza's social and environmental fabric.
"At the same time, it's important to mention the ruling of the International Hague Court of and the arrest of the Prime Minister of The Zionist regime, Benjamin Netanyahu, and a number of their high-ranking commanders on charges of genocide. In fact, for the first time since the establishment of The Zionist regime, we have witnessed 122 countries declaring that they will enforce this ruling if it is definitively approved by the International Court of Justice."
Themes for the Cartoon and Poster Sections:
Holocide: The Zionist regime has set a course for a catastrophe far beyond genocide and direct killing of people. This event has been termed "holocide," signifying the complete destruction of Gaza's social and environmental fabric, tantamount to the annihilation of Palestine and its people.
Genocide: Through its apartheid policies and racial discrimination against the Palestinian people, The Zionist regime has committed the horrific crime of genocide. Denying this obvious truth is a double injustice to the suffering people of Palestine. The global community, and especially artists, must firmly condemn this crime and take action to stop it.
Double Standards: While USA, on the one hand, preaches peace and supports the rights of Palestinians, on the other hand, it is complicit in the crimes of the Zionist regime by sending weapons and providing political support. This blatant contradiction and double standard policy violates justice and human rights and must be strongly criticized.
