Theme: "Possible Futures Beyond 2030".

– Exhibition Venue: Building Q, Architecture, Design, and Fashion Design, ITESO.
ABOUT THE THEME
The central theme, "Possible Futures Beyond 2030," encourages participants to evaluate the outcomes of global initiatives like the Sustainable Development Goals, the New Urban Agenda, and the Paris Agreement. The aim is to propose plans, projects, and initiatives with a critical and proactive vision of the future, based on global achievements, local impacts, unresolved challenges, and emerging agendas.
This call is open to professional designers and students, inviting them to graphically explore and debate possible futures beyond 2030.
Posters can be submitted in the following categories:
1- Social and Urban Resilience
2- Just and Sustainable Societies
3- Adaptive and Efficient Building
4- Thriving Habitat
1- Social and Urban Resilience
In the face of the climate crisis and its impacts in the coming decades, it is essential to develop reflections, actions, and robust urban mechanisms based on the identification and anticipation of risks affecting human settlements and natural environments. Posters with the following focuses will be prioritized:
• Community Capacity Building: Strengthening communities through education, environmental awareness, and local systems to prepare and respond to climate crises.
• Adaptation and Anticipation: Creating flexible urban systems with resilient infrastructure and societies capable of anticipating disasters.
• Impact Mitigation: Implementing policies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable resource management.
• Transformation and Conservation: Integrating sustainability in territorial planning and conserving natural resources.
2- Just and Sustainable Societies
With global population growth and the complexity of human settlements, proposals should promote social, spatial, economic, cultural, political, and environmental justice across various scales. Posters with the following focuses will be prioritized:
• Spatial Justice: Ensuring equitable access to housing, water, and basic services.
• Urban Governance: Fostering public participation in decision-making for social cohesion.
• Heritage Preservation: Conserving tangible and intangible cultural and natural heritage.
• Urban Mobility: Planning equitable, efficient, and sustainable mobility systems.
• Public Spaces and Green Areas: Encouraging the development of sustainable urban environments.
• Circularity: Implementing regional circular economy models.
3- Adaptive and Efficient Buildings
Considering the construction industry’s significant environmental impact, this category focuses on adaptive and efficient designs. Posters with the following focuses will be prioritized:
• Technological Innovation: Developing systems for renewable energy and efficient resource management.
• Sustainable Design and Construction: Promoting projects with innovative materials and technologies.
• Resilient Infrastructure: Designing infrastructure capable of facing climate challenges.
• Resource Management: Addressing sustainable land and water use in construction projects.
4- Thriving Habitat
This category calls for systemic and participatory approaches that encompass daily life, local communities, and global processes. Posters with the following focuses will be prioritized:
• Local Economic Models: Promoting sustainable local economies and production chains.
• Social Innovation: Valuing local traditions and technologies for sustainable development.
• Improving Quality of Life: Developing products and services to reduce ecological footprints.
• Sustainable Food Systems: Policies for resilient, low-impact food systems.
• Sustainable Agriculture: Encouraging eco-friendly agricultural practices.
• Health and Nutrition: Promoting equitable access to nutritious food and combating malnutrition.
• Education and Training: Incorporating sustainability into educational programs.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS
1. Participation is free and open to everyone worldwide.
2. Each designer may submit up to four designs.
3. Submissions must be sent via email to posterhabitat@iteso.mx
4. Posters must be submitted in 60 cm x 90 cm, 300 dpi resolution, in JPEG and PDF formats.
5. Submission Deadline: February 28, 2025.
6. Designs must not include logos, author names, or commercial imagery and must not harm or offend any institution or individual.
7. Submitted designs must be original and unpublished.
8. Posters not complying with the guidelines will be excluded.
9. Late submissions will not be evaluated.
10. File names must follow this format: Category_Name_Surname_Country.jpg.
11. The top 50 designs selected by the jury will be exhibited at ITESO and online via institutional social media.
12. All exhibited works will be included in the Design Bachelor’s program graphic archive and used in the current exhibition catalog and on social media.
13. Designers of accepted works will receive a digital participation certificate.
