Rules of the contest
Topics: 
A) Physonomic caricature: Donald Trump 
B) Theme: Fake News and the distorted truth.
 
Deadline: August 19, 2025 Convocation at the First International Caricatures Festival Expo Cartoon Panama to be held from September 15 to 19, 2025, in Panama City.
 
The colleagues of Panama and the world are invited to project with their works the debate around fake news, false or misleading news that are generally spread with the intention of manipulating public opinion, misinforming or generating confusion. They can be presented in the form of articles, images, videos or audios and are usually viralized through social networks and digital media.
 
They can be divided into several categories:
1. Disinformation: incorrect information spread without bad intention.
2. MISSFormation: False data shared by error.
3. Malinformation: true but manipulated or context manipulated information to deceive.
The impact of fake news can be serious, affecting political decisions to public health. Combating them implies verifying sources, contrasting information and promoting critical thinking.
 
- Participation in the meeting is open to all cartoonists who can compete.
- The original works must be sent digital format, with the author's firm and data.
- Only digital works of art will be accepted.
- File specifications: A4 -A3, 300 DPI, JPEG or PNG format.
- The works can be black and white or in color.
- The genres in which the contest will be held are the following: General humor political satire.
- Participants will send a work for each category (A and B).
- The works will be sent to the following email address: ExpoCartoonPanama@gmail.com and must be accompanied by the following information: Name and surname (in addition to the artistic name) Country Title Particular address Electronic chip.
- Holder the file with the name of the author and the country of origin.
- All proposals will be received until August 19, 2025.
- On the jurors an international jury will select the works presented to the contest, which will be exhibited from September 15 to 19 in the city of Panama.

The decisions of the jurors are unappealable and the participation in the contest implies the acceptance of all the terms of this call.
 
Other conditions
• The organizers reserve the right to use the works for various purposes without compensation obligation.
• The works will be included in the Archive Portal and in the Permanent Exhibition.
• The exhibition will be itinerant and will be presented in various parts of the country.
•  When sending jobs, the authors accept these rules.
• Participation in this contest is voluntary and free.
• All participants must be of legal age.
• Works that do not meet the conditions specified in these bases or that are offensive, injurious, discriminatory or promote racial, ethnic or religious hatred will not be admitted to contest.
• Each author must send only one work A4.
• By participating in the contest, each author accepts the free transfer of the works presented to the organizer and confirms that he is the author of the works presented and that his presentation to the contest does not violate third parties.
• The presentation of the work authorizes the Expo Cartoon Panama contest to use the images in exhibitions, publications, social networks and platforms or formats where the promotion of the event is required.
• The deadline for the delivery of works can be modified in favor of the participants and extended without modifying these bases. The organizer will notify the participants of the deadline change.
• When judging the works, the jury will take into account, in particular, the artistic value of the drawing, its precision in the interpretation of the subject and its humorous aspect.
• If the organizer, co organizer or jury members, after or before the delivery of the awards indicated in the regulations, receive information that the work presented to the contest constitutes plagiarism or violates the law or provisions of these regulations, the organizer has the right to: - suspend the prize or delivery of the same until such doubts are clarified. - Make the decision not to deliver an award in the contest.
• The winner must be the same holder of the bank account in which the prize will be deposited.

By participating in the contest, the participant declares to possess all the copyright of the work presented and that this does not violate any personal, author or third party right. In case of claims related to the work presented, the participant exempts the organizer of any derivative obligation in this regard, undertakes to collaborate with him in the related disputes and will assume the expenses incurred in relation to the claims of third parties.
