🏛️ On July 11, 2025, at the 47th Session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, the Western Xia Mausoleums were officially inscribed on the World Heritage List, raising the total number of World Heritage sites in China to 60, among the highest in the world.
🌏 Beijing, a city rich in world heritage, embodies the brilliance of Chinese civilization. The Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tombs, Grand Canal, and Beijing Central Axis—each is a crystallization of history and wisdom, a vivid carrier of dialogue between world civilizations. To rejuvenate these treasures in the new era requires both in-depth cultural interpretation and creative artistic expression.
🎨 The "World Heritage in Beijing" 2025 International Cartoon Exhibition warmly invites cartoon artists worldwide to explore the treasures of Beijing’s world heritage, bringing them to life with innovative imagination and youthful cartoon perspectives. Through this universal visual language, artists are encouraged to reinterpret historical narratives, philosophical ideas, artistic achievements, and the spirit of the times, granting ancient wisdom new vitality, and inspiring global audiences to protect and cherish cultural heritage.

🎯 Theme
Artworks should focus on Beijing’s world cultural heritage sites (Great Wall, Forbidden City, Zhoukoudian Peking Man Site, Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, Ming Tombs, Grand Canal, Beijing Central Axis) and reflect their historical context, cultural connotations, artistic achievements, architectural wisdom, spiritual values, and contemporary significance.
🖼️ Selected Works
- A total of 200 artworks will be selected.
- Chosen works will be exhibited in Beijing, Liangzhu, and other locations, included in a multilingual collection, and showcased in digital exhibitions at the 8 heritage sites, as well as in domestic and international tours (both online and offline).
📝 Submission Guidelines
- All works must be original with artistic and intellectual value. No limit on number of submissions, style, or technique.
- Digital submission only.
- Format: JPEG, resolution 300 dpi or higher,, no more than 20 MB per file.
- Size: A3 (420×297mm).
- Formats accepted: single panel, four-panel, multi-panel, strip comics.
- Color or black & white both acceptable.
- No personal info (name, address, phone) within the artwork.
- We accept AI collaborative creation and do not support pure AI generated works. If AI tools are used for assisted creation, please indicate "This work uses AIGC assisted creation" in the body of the submission email.
- Email subject line: "World Heritage in Beijing 2025 International cartoon Exhibition" + author's name + work name.
- Artwork title format: Title + Name (as on ID/passport) + Nationality (Province).
- Email must include author’s phone, address, and postal code.
⚠️ Important Notes
- Submissions not meeting requirements will be considered invalid.
- Copyright remains with the author. The organizer retains the right to use selected works for non-profit exhibitions, research, photography, video, publications, and promotion with attribution.
- Authors must ensure no violation of copyright, portrait rights, reputation, or privacy rights. Any legal disputes will disqualify the work, and responsibility lies with the author.
- Submission implies acceptance of these terms.

🏅 Jury & Selection
- The Beijing Cartoonists Association will invite renowned domestic and international cartoonists, scholars, and professors to form an expert jury.
- After the judging process, the shortlist of selected works will be announced and the authors will be sent a Notice of Participation, Commitment of Originality, and Authorization for Exhibition (Public Benefit).
- Selected authors will receive an exhibition certificate and a multilingual portfolio.
