Call for Participation: International Caricature Exhibition on Artist "Mohamed Sobhy"

🎉 As part of celebrating icons of Arab creativity, an international caricature exhibition is being organized to honor the exceptional artistic journey of Egyptian comedian superstar Mohamed Sobhy, one of the most prominent pillars of theatre and drama in Egypt and the Arab world.

🖼️ The exhibition comes as a high artistic tribute to Mohamed Sobhy’s legacy spanning more than five decades of creativity, during which he presented timeless works rich in profound human visions and conscious, critical social messages. These works have established him as one of the most influential and respected artists in the collective memory of Arab audiences.

Caricature of artist Mohamed Sobhy, or artworks reflecting your personal impression of his diverse characters, or illustrations inspired by scenes from his theatrical plays, TV series, or films.

• The exhibition is open to all cartoonists all over the world.

• Submitted artworks may be in color or black and white.

• Each artist may submit up to two artworks.

• Artworks must be submitted at 300 dpi resolution.

• Size: A3, format: JPEG.

• AI-generated or AI-assisted artworks will not be accepted.

• Please include the artist’s name and country with the submitted artwork.

• The organizing committee reserves the right to use selected artworks for exhibition-related purposes, including printing, publishing, and promotion through printed and visual media as well as social media platforms.

• All participating artists whose works are exhibited will receive a digital catalog and a digital certificate of participation.

Artist Mohamed Sobhy

Egyptian comedian superstar Mohamed Sobhi was born on March 3, 1948, in Cairo. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts with honors and later worked as a teaching assistant in the Acting and Directing Department before deciding to leave academia to fully dedicate himself to his artistic project—one that soon became a defining milestone in Egyptian and Arab cultural consciousness.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mohamed Sobhi has received dozens of Arab and international awards and honors in recognition of his rich artistic journey and contributions to theatre, drama, and culture. These include prestigious awards for creativity, acting, and directing, as well as high Arab distinctions such as the Palestinian Order of Culture and Arts and the Sharjah Award for Arab Theatre Creativity, along with numerous honors from major festivals, universities, and institutions inside and outside Egypt.
