🇨🇺 The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Cuba, the National Council of Visual Arts (CNAP), and the magazine La Jiribilla invite artists, illustrators, cartoonists, and humorists from around the world to participate in the 2nd International Biennial of Political Humor, to be held in Havana from June 9 to 14, 2026.
🌐 This event seeks to playfully explore the impact of globalization and its associated phenomena from a critical perspective.
✏️ This edition invites participants to address themes related to cultural colonialism and the harmful influence of the hegemonic cultural industry on contemporary society.
📩 The works must be submitted digitally via email to the following address: bienalhumorpoliticocu@gmail.com
📌 Attached files must be submitted in JPG format, with a resolution of 300 dpi and no less than 2400 pixels on the longest side.
📰 The files must be named with the author's name and the message must include the following information: Full name (in addition to artistic name) Country Title Home address Email address Telephone number.
🎨 The selected works will be printed and exhibited in the main exhibition and in the collateral exhibitions.
📚 They may be published in the promotional materials and catalogs of the 2nd Biennial, always crediting the author and respecting intellectual property rights.
⏳ The deadline for receiving the works is April 30, 2026.
🏆 First, second, and third prizes will be awarded, selected by a jury whose decision will be final.
🖼️ A major exhibition will be held, bringing together the most outstanding and representative works, selected by a group of specialists. Collateral exhibitions of the submitted works will be held, showcasing the diversity of proposals and perspectives on the theme.
👤 A theoretical event will also be held to address issues related to the work of cartoonists in general and, in particular, those related to the proposed theme.
