Submissions Open for the 10th Galway Cartoon Festival 2026

🇮🇪 The organizing committee of the Galway Cartoon Festival announced the opening of submissions for the 10th edition, inviting cartoonists and artists from around the world to participate in one of Ireland’s most distinctive cartoon events.

🎉 Celebrating its 10th edition, the festival described the journey to this milestone as "a wild and crazy ride", announcing that this year’s edition will take a more relaxed and open approach. Unlike previous editions, there will be no categories or themed exhibitions, but instead “one great big show for cartoons of all kinds,” including topical, satirical, surreal, and even sociopathic works.

📰 Details:
• The festival welcomes submissions from anyone, anywhere, while emphasizing a particular interest in showcasing works by women artists.
• With all submissions, please include a little biographical information.
• You can send as many as you like.
• Work can be in any language, with special appreciation for works created in the Irish language.
• Any images used in festival publicity will be credited to the artist.
• The chosen cartoons will be exhibited throughout the Festival, as well as on official website.
 
💰 Originals:
• The organizers also welcomed the submission of original drawings and hand-signed prints, noting their desire to support artists through artwork sales during the festival.
• All original works will be returned at the Festival’s expense. So don’t worry about including postage! Just remember to: 
- Include a return address. 
- State the price you wish to sell the work for, (We can also exhibit works without offering them for sale, if you wish).

💻 Digital submissions will also be printed and exhibited during the festival. The organizers stated that proceeds from any sales of digital works will help support the festival’s expenses.
