1st Tlatelolco International Caricature Biennial, Mexico

🇲🇽 The National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), through its Office of Culture and the Centro Cultural Universitario Tlatelolco (CCUT), in collaboration with CartonClub and with the support of the Embassy of France, the Embassy of Germany, and the Goethe-Institut Mexico, invites political cartoonists, illustrators, visual artists, and graphic creators from around the world to participate in the: the 1st Tlatelolco International Biennial of Political Cartooning.

🎯 Political cartooning is a critical language capable of reflecting on the social, political, and cultural phenomena of our time. Editorial cartoons and graphic narratives constitute essential tools for the exercise of freedom of expression, public criticism, and the construction of collective memory.

🌎 THEME OF THE FIRST EDITION: A NEW WORLD ORDER
The first edition of the Biennial invites participants to reflect on the political, economic, social, and cultural transformations shaping the contemporary world and threatening peace and human dignity.

💻 Geopolitical conflicts, environmental crises, violence, mass migration, technological developments, new forms of communication, and shifts in power structures are creating a global landscape in constant redefinition.

💡 Through its capacity for synthesis, criticism, and irony, political cartooning offers a unique perspective for interpreting these tensions and challenging dominant narratives.
